The new eau de toilette that has been launched in 2007 is a tender echo of eau de parfum. The rose scent enjoys its renaissance in a form of fragrance for the young. Bvlgari Rose Essentielle EDToilette Rosee is aimed at young generation. It is joyful and translucent, with accentuated gourmand fruity nuance.
Bergamot and orange precede Turkish rose, orange blossom and jasmine. The base is made of musk. Eau de toilette comes in 50ml and 100ml bottles and is already available. The fragrance creator isBeatrice Piquetwho created eau de parfum as well.
Ive just recieved this, I asked the person for EDP but I dont know if the mistake is deliberate.
Tea rose first off, settles into a softly sweet powdery rose, its quite nice. Very beautiful.
I like them a bit stronger but Im now deciding I do not wish to wear power frags all the time.
I hear narcisco is roses bit I have not done well with his frags… may try them again.
Its very hot and humid here now, so I will use in winter too.
Use thsi for like 4 years. Lofe it. Elegant rose. Good longevity. Ifeel like i am in a rose garden and i love it
This was my first perfume, it was a gift and will always be very special to me. I love how it smells like a big bunch of dewy roses straight from the cool room, and how it can be delicate or HERE I AM depending on how you wear it or the weather (I personally love it in summer, just one spray on the chest/neck).
Rose Essentielle in its toilette form is a delicate and dreamy romantic rose perfume.
As it is so soft, its a rose fragrance for those of us that dont want to be blasted with rosebushes. It lacks the projection and sillage and epic fragrance ferocity of such rose perfumes as Tea Rose by Perfumers Workshop. At the same time its not the oh so powdery Ombre Rose. This is a pretty neutral rose with light texture and a feminine air suited to a young woman who is just starting to wear perfumes and want to feel grown up. She can apply this to her skin or even clothes and hair ends to smell very good while the scent lasts. Its a refreshing perfume and subtle enough to wear to work.
This is a beautiful intro to rose perfumes. This was among my sisters fragrance wardrobe items and I asked her if I could borrow it. I have worn EDP but hadnt tried the EDT. My sister and I differ in our tastes in perfume. She enjoys the sweeter softer girly girl scents and occasionally indulges in mature florals. This is sort of like the Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet of the Bvulgari line Rose Esentielle. This means that it does not last very long and its quite subtle, in fact only detectable to the wearer and to anyone close enough to the wearers pulse points. In this perfumes defense, however, this is a much longer lasting scent than Dior Blooming Bouquet. It has a charming feminine aura. It smells like a princess, ballerina, or a young bride on her wedding day.
The first spritz is citrus. Fresh, cold bergamot orange that is quite pleasant and zesty. It reminds me a bit of the opening citric notes to Chanels Coco Mademoiselle. So if you like that type of citrusy rose you should like this stuff. Its a rather well done citrus and it smells like a delicious and fragrant orange scent that does not take too long to reach into the rose notes. The roses are pink and red, very much like actual roses when smelled on a bouquet. Its like literally putting your nose into the bouquet of roses and getting that orangey rose aroma. It also smells like after a rose has been on a vase for a long time. Even with the roses blooming in the heart of the fragrance, Essentielle Eau de Toilette never gets too be a showy rose, or a heavy soprano rose singing high notes or too overblown a rose. Its quite sweet and soft, and pretty.
When dry, and it dries fast, its a light herbal patchouli (the dominant base note) and a little bit of white musk. Its not terribly musky. Its the powder form of musk. There is a good amount of greenery in the patchouli to give it that well rounded green floral rose air, but it also never gets to be too realistic. I dont pick up on rose with thorns and bushes. This is a shy rose with a very pretty powder. She is a young girl with rosy cheeks and porcelain white skin. She likes pink roses and pink tulle dresses. Reminds me of feminine teenagers from the 1950s, or Lisle from The Sound of Music LOL
Although its not as complex or as engaging as other perfumes I go for, its a very lovely well balanced and modern rose perfume. Those seeking bigger badder roses like Stella, Tea Rose, Miss Dior, Rose Perfection (Piguet) Sa Majeste La Rose or Fille de Berlin, Calligraphy Rose and so forth wont find this rose to be that much of a statement making rose. She is not interested in being in the spotlight. She is a demure English rose who reads romances and listens to romantic records. Because it is a very light rose perfume, she can be worn just about anywhere: office/work, dinner dates, and weddings. This perfume for me seems to want you to wear her in the day time not the evening, and it is innocent enough for young girls under 18 or under 30 to wear in the spring and summer months. A rose for the modern rose wearer who doesnt want to show off.
Ive re-tried this a couple of times in the last few super hot days in excess of 35 degrees Celsius and it is bee-utiful. Gone is that sugariness that I noticed in cooler temperatures and it has become a delicate rose, just what I had been hoping for. One for the middle of summer in an El Niño year.
I thought I had tested this one but it must have been the EDP. I think I need the more woodsy base. This is fresh and pleasant but not strong enough enough to satisfy my rosey sweet tooth. It is doing a disappearing act in this humidity. Hoping it will fare better in different weather.
I own and love many BVL/Bvlgari fragrances. I also love rose fragrances but this is a pure rose fragrance better suited for bubble bath or the home. For a more complex and layered rose fragrance, try Roses De Chloe (Chloe.)
This perfume was gifted to me on my Birthday from my husband. I really like that it is a light rose scent that is youthful and fresh. Perfectly suited for day time wear. On my first time wearing this I was taken back a little by the initial musk scent and this reminded me of SJPs lovely but this settled quickly and the beautiful rose and bergamot scent started to sing. Gorgeous.
To me, this is a fresh rose scent with a glimpse of a tea note upon first spray. However, as I allow the perfume to develop on my skin, my body chemistry causes it to transform into a warmer and sweeter scent as the base notes of musk emerge. This transformation is what allows me to use this perfume for all occasions; it is an easy transition from work to night, from spring to winter.
Bvlgari Rose Essentielle EDT is a perfume that radiates elegance and luxury. It is undoubtedly feminine, albeit more refined than conventional sweet scents. I believe that this perfume would be suitable for all ages, however as it develops rather differently with different body chemistries, I would recommend testing before purchase.
A very sweet fruity rose. I expected to find some sort of berry in the notes. To me this is a very young fragrance and I will be gifting my sample to someone who is more into that sort of sugared raspberry sweetness.
This one is a no for me. It is similar to Idylle which I love, but it reminds me of the air fresheners that go off when you walk by them. It also reminds me of dryer sheets which is not what I am going for in a fragrance. Back it goes.
Just found this at Ross and snapped it up. I am not sure how I feel about it yet. I smell the cherry cough drops others have mentioned and less of the rose. It is 101 outside now, so maybe I will smell more rose on a cooler day.
A blind purchase. After reading the reviews, I really wanted to love this scent. Unfortunately, in my opinion, this is a very mature scent. If you like mature scents, this is for you! The dry down is pleasant. Just not for me.
bought blind as it was heavily discounted. Overall a nice sweet friendly fragrance, that is office and date appropriate. It is dominated by a sweet rose, and faint citrus.
This is a beautiful rose perfume but it felt like Miss Dior if it was a more watered down lighter softer Eau de Toilette Miss Dior. I dont think there is a Miss Dior EDT so this is it. Its also like a longer lasting and better more full bodied Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet. Its a citrusy rose floral fragrance. It opens with fresh delicious orange and a light orange blossom. It becomes flowery with rose and jasmine but its delicate and tenuous. Its like rose water. I find it refreshing and sweet and perfect to wear after a shower and when I dont want to wear anything too formal or heavy. Its very pink scented and soft yet not too girly or youthful. Just like a very lovely luxurious rose water. Loving it. Its definitely a BVulgari and has that expensive smell I love in fragrances. If you like soft rose youll love this one. And even though its an EDT it has a nice longevity of over 5 hours and its a better alternative than Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet. I like Blooming Bouquet but with that one I have to reapply constantly. Not with this one. Im good to go with the first time I spray it.
This was a blind buy, but one of the good ones. Rose Essentielle EDT is basically what its name stands for – essential for all rose fans. It is an extremlely elegant, sofisticated and feminine perfume, but not too formal or serious. The rose and citruse notes are the most prominent, with a little bit of musk. I think this perfume is good for basically any occasion and season wise, perfect for spring. The longevity is moderate, silage on my skin also, although if you put a spritz more, the longevity gets better. All an all, a very nice one…
Just bought this as a blind buy and I cant wait to smell it after reading the reviews!!!
I love Rose Essentielle (EDP) so i have to try this.
This is very similar to EDP. They share the little sour Rosy note that i like. EDT is more fruity, have quieter silliage and shorter longevity. But it can be used in Winter, just like EDP can be used in Summer.
I think it is up to individual taste, whether they want a bigger or a quieter fruity rose.
Rose Essentielle Leau de Toilette Rosee (as it states on the box) is a scent of fresh roses and patchouli. Its ultra feminine and delicate. The patchouli note stood out to me from the first whiff. It gives an earthy and sophisticated feel. It mixes pleasantly with the soft, sweet roses. This perfume has very simple components, yet its not lacking depth. The violet note does not stand out particularly, but gives it a delicate powdery note. Very elegant! As this perfume wears on my skin, the bitter patchouli note dissipates, and the scent gets more subtly sweet. At that point I detect a hint of fruit. Orange and bergamot are the notes listed here, but I think blackberry is more accurate since I dont get any citrus note from this, and blackberry is listed in the original EDP. I also dont smell any other flowers than rose in this. Jasmine could be there, but probably mixed completely into the patchouli. The musk is not strong but ever-present here. It rounds the perfume, gives it a warm, sensual feel as opposed to the earthy greenness.
This perfume is fresh, but not crisp, unlike Paul Smith Roses. The latter is more of a simple, innocently crisp rose. Its also earthier and more tuned-down than Roses de Chloe. It reminds me of Leau de Chloe, another of my favorite rose-scented perfumes. They share the same patchouli note. But the rose note in Essentielle is fresher and closer-to-real. Leau de Chloe has quality of the Chloe EDP, which is a rich, ambery, vintage rose.
To me, Rose Essentielle is the most elegant and sophisticated out of all. It requires some taste to appreciate. I love the scent now, but I remember hating it the first time I smelled it two years ago. I couldnt handle the patchouli in there. I was more into Paul Smith Rose back then.
As an EDT, the longevity is beyond my expectation. I can still sniff it after 5 hours. I think this is the best line of Bvlgari perfumes. I also adore the Mon Jasmine Noir and Mon Jasmine Noir Leau Exquise (No one does jasmine like Bvlgari!). Also, it does smell like Vera Wang Truely pink! Which is also an amazing scent. 🙂 🙂
Rose Essentielle is a soft elegant sweet rose musk perfume that is modern, pretty, and romantic. There are very noticeable differences between the EDT and the EDP.
EDT: whispery soft, it is a smooth and clear fruity rosy scent with a musk base. It exudes innocence and tenderness. Even though there is sweetness in this perfume, it is always elegant and refined. What is especially nice is that it does not have that overwhelming heaviness that often goes hand with hand with a perfume that is predominately rose. (You know, that scratchiness that makes you want to sneeze, like breathing in the Winter air and hurting your nostrils while running.) This is such a lovely scent, but will not be enough oomph for those into big doses of everything. Reapplication is also necessary whenever you get the chance.
EDP: a more typical rose scent, it also has the typical scratchiness of a rose perfume, and somewhat sneeze inducing, but only in the first 15 minutes. I didnt like this one at first, but it is the more substantial of the two. It also projects better than the EDT, which is basically a skin scent. Like the EDT, the EDP is also a fruity rose with a musky base, but here, the rose note is much more prominent than in the EDT, and stays throughout most of the duration of the perfume.
Im pretty sure that so far, no one has been able to capture the actual true scent of a dewy fragrant rose into a bottle. The Rose Essentielle is not a bad alternative to the real thing. I find the EDTs opening closer in spirit to a rose, but after dry down, it is mostly musk. Therefore, between the 2, I have decided to wear the EDP when Im in the mood for a light and elegant rose scent.
This is a really beautiful spring/summer scent. Sweet light rose and a powdery yet clean freshness are what come forward on my skin. I started out today thinking it might not be a powerhouse, and I wasnt wrong—but I also wasnt right. Its light and inoffensive, friendly and fresh. But dont let that part fool you into thinking itll be gone quickly. It literally lasted on my skin for nearly 10 hours before fading into nothing. This was a blind buy for me based on my love of most Bvlgari scents, and I am not disappointed. A hint of citrus and patchouli round it out, but its mostly rose and musk on me. Very pretty!
Aaah…the bliss… It goes beyond words, the magic that it captivates, so much more than just another rose scent, it becomes women of power, in high positions who know where they are going.
I suppose it goes with all Bvlgari classic scents (not with Omnias which target a younger, more sporty audience)but I find this one perfect for summer. Again, to say that it is only a rose fragrance is an understatement… this one goes to the city and out for drinks on a summer night…and to Opera… and to a secret garden.
I bought this exquisite juice today as Im looking for a scent that will get me through summer as so far I have been buying perfumes that are appropriate for winter and spring I saw this on sale in the nearby pharmacist and immediately sprayed the tester on my wrists. The initial scent was very in your face citrus floral aroma so I bought it straight away, I liked the initial attraction :). Then after about half hour it dawned on me that is similar in smell to my SJP Lovely that I stopped using for a while as it doesnt smell as enticing on my skin anymore as the climate gets warmer here. This is like a love child of SJP Lovely and CK Eternity Moment, only Rose Essentialle is more refined and straightforward. I dont dislike this perfume is so inoffensive and pretty I just wish I can find something with a bit more edge. 3.5/5 all in all for me.
To me, this is a very subtle scent. I feel I can wear it with lotion with a little bit of a scent (currently Olay Shimmer, which smells very clean). I dont know if they just work particularly well together or what, but Ive been getting so many compliments every day on this. It smells very clean, very rose. Almost smells like, when youre wearing it, YOU are the thing that smells good, if that makes any sense. This was a blind buy because I saw it for $10 at a discount store, and I generally love Bvlgari anything.
At first this fragrance starts heavy and a bit cloying. You can sense vanilla and rose, heavy jasmine and some sugary smell but i expected more rose in this one.The drydown however is beautiful and varm with rose and vanila.
I really wasnt expecting cherry cough drops. This smells to me like Id popped a cherry cough drop into my mouth then wandered into a rose garden. Im trying very hard to smell the roses but that darn cough drop is ruining the experience.
Now that Ive scrolled down to the bottom of the review Im happy to see someone else said cough drops. Sometimes I think I must have a very strange nose because what I smell doesnt match what the rest of you smell. Im especially surprised Bvlgari makes no claim about cherry in this.
This was much better than I expected, to be honest. The first half an hour brings a very fresh, dewy pink tea rose – the tea notes are quite obvious. Later some berry notes appear, while the drydown is a slightly less exciting, but still pleasant, musky affair.
This fragrance oozes femininity! I love the soft rose opening notes. It developes into a rich caramel rose with a hint of musk. A real man magnet! It is not overbearing in any way. It is elegant and uncomplicated. I catch myself smelling at my own wrist a few times a day, because this is the most beautiful scent in the world to me! I will always always wear this one!
Surprisingly, I tryed this fragrance and didnt like it at all. Expected something light, fresh, rosy.. instead of it smelled to me like old woman, very powdery, disturbing.
I love and super adore Rose Essentielle that it landed the number one spot in my heart, among my other fragrances. Very feminine, fresh, floral without the usual sharp rose smell. Its a sophisticated fragrance that I can wear all year round. As with any Bvlgari perfumes I got, they stay long enough on my skin and they seem to smell better when my body heats up on humid days. I will repurchase this forever!
My mom bought this for me, and what an excellent choice. Initially on me it smells very lemony (my husband compares it to lemonade) but then it quickly settles into a baby soft, dewy rose. Longevity & sillage are about average (my only quibble is I wish it was a little better.) But what a stunning spring fragrance, and now Ill be cheking out some of the Bvlgari Jasmine line.
Im normally not huge on roses. Thanks to fragrantica, this was a blind buy and it absolutely did not disappoint.
On my clothes, I get a beautiful and soft feminine scent. Its this pretty, classy, ladylike scent that just makes you feel so expensive. I absolutely agree with LadyRogue when she said Its a peek-a-boo scent, in such that it doesnt shout but, like a lady, sits and gets noticed for her class and elegant charm.
I have mixed feelings about the juicy jammy-berry layer you get after it dries down a little – Ive seen it mention in the EDP reviews and I definitely get its notes in the EDT version. The jammy notes are not as elegant as I want it to be – but I think they provide a nice balance to the overall result.
However, I absolutely cannot spray this directly on my skin – because it turns into something much too strong, too sharp and almost.. rancid.
On my clothes though, even the next day its faintly clinging to the fibers and managing to smell reasonably fresh instead of going stale.
Longevity on my clothes is also amazing as I can still smell it 8 hours later. But despite this, it has minimal sillage – you can be sure this isnt one to offend others around you. To enjoy it, just make sure to spray it a little lower (eg at the center of your torso). I read somewhere that perfume evaporates upwards so this way, you can smell it as it does. It definitely works on me as throughout the day, I get delicate wafts of Rose Essentialle .. and nobody else knows why I suddenly feel just a little more feminine.
I am another who is disappointed that the scent disappears so quickly. I prefer the edt to the edp in terms of scent. The edt is all round softer, lighter, more joyful but sadly vanishes in under 2 hours. I may try spritzing my clothes instead of my skin? Because it is a lovely smell t have around.
I absolutely love this. It is my first time trying Bvlgari, and I love rose – this scent is unique. It smells of true roses and I always get compliments from men and women when I wear it. A lot of people have said it doesnt last very long, luckily on me rose scents cling well to my skin. Throughout the day I get whiffs of myself and think woo! It smells romantic and delicious and feminine.
Looking forward to buying myself a bottle of this for my birthday next week. As far as rosey perfumes go, this has got to be my favourite. Plus Id like a bottle to put next to my signature scent (Bvlgari Mon Jasmin Noir) lol. I could easily wear this as an every day fragrance as its fresh, floral, warm, feminine and just so very, very pretty. I still have my sample here which I smell frequently as I enjoy it that much. Bvlgari seem to just work perfectly with my chemistry…love it 🙂
I bought this one as well for my best friend for her bday last week, and it absolutely complimented her to no end!
My best friend is a very big rose perfume wearer, and her queen of scents is of course Lola. But when i had her open this perfume and spray it on herself, it was like a different kind of heaven to what Lola provides.
Love the smell of roses and that orange blossom and jasmine, even though you can just smell them, still compliments the rose, giving it that boost of feminine it needs, the powdery musk when it hits cooling off and drying down was sensual as well. In the end, it ended up smelling kind of like a musk stick and made me want to eat her wrist, but it was still great!
Another great blind buy from myself, and im glad i got it for her!
I bought a 1.7oz bottle of this blindly, as I often do, along with a 10ml travel bottle of the EDP. While I do not love love love this fragrance, its not bad either. Its soft and musky and nonoffensive. I guess I was expecting a bit cleaner/sweeter, less musky rose. Ive discovered, too, that this is a scent that smells better at a distance. All in all not bad, but not my favorite Bvlgari either.
I love this perfume. Its such a true rose scent, but with an elegant woody touch to it on me. I get comments from men nearly every time I wear it. One of my favourites.
I must add that I thought the silage wasnt great on this, until I sprayed more on one night, and my friend insisted I didnt need to. She commented that she could still smell it quite strongly (even though I couldnt) and that I smelt amazing. 🙂
Very rosy-cheeked, light, uplifting and fresh on others–a spring rose on those lucky ladies (on one of my friends this smells like roses and sunshine). Unfortunately for me, this is one of those rose-based perfumes where my skin chemistry pulls the trick of transforming rose into rubbing alcohol/old nasty wine smell.
As far as rosy perfumes go this one is great. It is very romantic and the rose is natual smelling, not overly heavy. It is musky and slightly powdery, but I think the citrus keeps things fresh and enjoyable. The jasmine is hardly noticable on me (if at all), but my skin tends to emphasize rose notes so it may just have been overpowered on my skin. Lasting power is decent, sillage is close to the skin after about an hour or so, but in my opinion that is a good thing. Rose Essentielle is very pretty, feminine, romantic, and even though it isnt the most unique fragrance on the market it is very well done. I like it 🙂
Im a huge sucker for pretty much any rose scent, though most are too sweet or too heavy. This one, however, is light but not too light, with just enough musk to be sweetly sexy without being too cloying. I receive compliments from strangers whenever I wear it!
I loved this so much I bought the whole kit the large spray, the body cream, the shower gel. By the time I finished the bottle I was so sick of it that I couldnt wait to be rid of it. Too much of a good thing.
As far as rose scents go, this Id heavier than Stella, but still manages to be light and not one of those elderly cloying scents. I never got ant of the patchouli, even down to the very last drop I only ever got rose. This is expensive and I did not love it to the last drop.
Tried this in store, love love love LOVE the light rosy/musky/jasminey, not old & powdery, scent – but it didnt last half an hour on my skin. Would be my next signature scent if only the longevity would be better. Really bummed out For a perfume this expensive and coming from Bulgari, I expected so much better regarding lasting power & silage.
Love the smell but I also wish it would have better silage and longevity. Nothing worse than loving a smell but it doesnt last on your skin. Does it stay longer on clothes maybe? What brand of great rose smell has better longevity and silage?
Edit: I have since bought this as it was hugely discounted. I have worn it now a few times and still smells great. I have found that its longevity is better than my initial test. It lasts 4 to 6 hours on average. It is a fragrance you can spray your clothes to extend its life. Love it. I still think the stronger the better. I think all age groups would like it as my teenage daughter likes it as well as my mum but its definitely not as some say old lady or sickly sweet girly.
for me, this is the best rose fragrance ever!!
I have this and while I think it smells great, like others are saying, it is neither very strong or long-lasting. In fact, Im sorry to say, I dont really bother to apply it any more as it is only noticeable if I sniff my wrist. I certainly have never had anyone ever comment on it, and as others have said, the larger bottle is too big to lug around. I have been wanting to either purchase a miniature so I can reapply it frequently or investigate the EDP (I have the EDT). Interesting to know that EDTs and EDPs can often smell quite different! I think the EDT formula is lovely, but I want to saturate myself in the stuff, not barely be able to smell it on myself.
I read on some other Bvlgari reviews that the brand has a reputation for fragrances that are only moderately lasting at best, which is interesting. And disappointing. I have another of theirs, I think it might be called Omnia, its very sandalwoody, and I find that doesnt last well either. Im so curious to sample the EDP – I have been looking for a good rose perfume for a long time.
I do have rose essential oil but have never managed to take the step of mixing it with a carrier oil etc etc. I have looked at some inexpensive rose fragrances also – Yardley (I thought Yardley Lavender was the height of sophistication when I was a kid! haha) and Tea Rose – both seemed heavyhanded and a bit sickly, smelling perhaps more of rose geranium, or that was my sense.
I do think Bvlgari have captured the rose well, but not in its full glory. Its kind of muted.
Found this at Costco last weekend. To me, it smells of roses and maybe a slight touch of patchouli. Very feminine. It wasnt what I expected but was intrigued after five minutes. I find it clean. It doesnt have any smoky aspect that I usually enjoy in perfumes. Not powdery so it doesnt remind me of granny smell. Appropriate for work. Sillage is short with my two blasts (one on chest and another on wrist). After an hour, it has faded away so I have to nose-to-wrist for a whiff. Its pretty but Im still thinking of returning it.
Sillage: 3/5 after first 30minutes, 1/5 after an hour
Update after a month: I love the clean scent of rose in this. I find it innocent and honest – if that makes sense. There is no strong woodsy or vanilla smell to interfere with the purity of rose. If anything, the musk serves to avoid a sharp rose scent. The sharpness of the rose lasted well past 12 hours (compared to Stella McCartney Stella which was fading but was more of a powdery faint rose). Beautiful! Good for office. Have fallen in love and can no longer part with my bottle.
I loved this EDT so so much, its light, sweet rosee and fresh, airy like, as if iam flying on soft clouds — but it is like a deflated balloon, it is not long lasting. The 100ml bottle is massive and heavy so there is no way i will carry that in my bag to reapply every few hours. I thought i was smart – I went off and get the EDP hoping that it would last longer. Well, EDP truly last well over 6 hours. OK, i feel very bad when i say this, but this EDP is strange, it is like cat pee… sorry… it is that weird. Why the EDT is so different to the EDP? To fix this cat pee error, i sprayed 1 of EDP and 5sprays of EDT….well, that will fix it …temporarily… until the EDT is gone… i smell like cat pee again…argggg….. seriously, i will give this EDP away, and will only buy EDT in future.
Nothing new abou
